After a fire, the claim has three parts

The house, what was in it, and where you live while it is repaired. Insurers often pay the first quickly and the other two slowly, or in pieces.

We keep all three in one claim with one set of lists, so that nothing is left out because it was filed on its own.

We take

  • The house and its structure

  • Contents and inventories

  • Living costs while you are out

  • Smoke and soot damage

What tends to get left out

Four gaps we look for first in a fire claim.

  • Room-by-room list

Every room, written down room by room. Photographs, old receipts and online orders help you remember.

  • Smoke beyond the fire

Soot and odor travel through ducts and walls. We ask for testing, not a glance.

  • Rent while you wait

Rent, hotel nights and extra costs while the house is unlivable, kept with receipts.

  • What started it

A cause-and-origin report can matter. We read it before the insurer relies on it.

Start with one room

Tell us what you have so far. We build the lists with you, a room at a time.

We charge no fee unless we recover more than the insurer had offered. The firm advances case costs, such as an engineer's report, and is repaid from a recovery. If there is none, you owe neither the fee nor the costs.
